Heat Pumps Cornwall

As a team, we have been providing heat pump systems across Cornwall and the South West of England for over 15 years, helping homeowners in Cornwall save money, reduce carbon emissions, and improve heating comfort with the best heat pump, heat battery storage, radiator, and underfloor heating systems.

Our team have installed many heat pumps in a wide variety of properties in Cornwall, ranging from high spec new builds on the north coast to traditional Cornish cottages. Both new self-builds and homeowners replacing traditional boilers with heat pumps are eligible for the new Boiler Upgrade Scheme. This scheme provides one-off grant payments of £5,000 for air source, and £6,000 for ground source heat pumps when replacing an existing fossil fuel boiler or direct electric heating system with an MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) accredited installer.

Read more about the Boiler Upgrade Scheme here.

Abode Heat have used a range of heat pumps manufacturers in our heat pump installations in Cornwall, including Vaillant, Daikin, Stiebel Eltron and Mitsubishi.

Bungalow - Air Source Heat Pump, Solar PV & Tesla Battery Storage installation by Abode

Here is an existing bungalow near Truro, where the homeowner asked Abode Heat to replace the property’s gas boiler with a heat pump to compliment his existing solar PV array. We installed a Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump in the property.

Higher Bissoe Cottage Abode heat pump case study

Here is another Abode Heat project. Located in the beautiful countryside here in Cornwall, this property’s owners wanted to remove their old oil boiler and use a more efficient system. We installed a Daikin air source heat pump for this property, alongside a Sunamp heat battery for the property’s hot water. This resulted in a renewable heating system estimated to provide annual energy savings for the customer of more than £500 per year, and estimated carbon savings of 34% per year.

Cornish Mill With Heat Pump

Daikin, a well-known heat pump manufacturer, featured one of our Cornish projects in one of their own case studies. This Cornish mill conversion swapped from an oil boiler with its ugly oil storage tank to a sleek new high temperature Daikin heat pump, nicely out of sight towards the rear of the property.

Whilst older properties like the traditional cottages you might find in Cornwall, might seem the unlikely candidate for a modern heat pump system, it is possible. We always recommend starting with a detailed heat loss calculation, which will confirm the heating requirement of the property as well as well as any upgrades to the property’s radiators. The design will also provide estimated running costs of a heat pump compared to the property’s current system. Our design led approach helps customers understand their real heating and hot water requirement, putting them in the best position to invest in the right technical solution which will meet current and future heating needs.
