Boiler Upgrade Scheme key facts
As part of the government’s Heat and Buildings strategy, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) provides upfront grants of £7,500 for air source and ground source heat pumps when replacing an existing fossil fuel boiler or direct electric heating system with an MCS accredited installer.
The scheme launched on May 23rd 2022 however, installations commissioned from 1st April 2022 will be eligible to apply.
These one-off grant payments are available to homeowners, private landlords and custom builders.
Homes with solid uninsulated walls will qualify. Cavity walls and lofts must be insulated and evidenced via your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) before the installation can be completed.
