Heat Pump Go

Heat Pump Go – MCS Umbrella Scheme

Heat Pump Go (our MCS umbrella scheme) helps your customers to receive a fully MCS accredited heat pump installation, without needing to put together all the paperwork and completing the accreditation yourself. We complete a fully MCS compliant room by room heat loss design and specify the best heat pump for your customer’s property, and once the system is installed, we will commission it, ensuring the heat pump meets MCS standards.

What is MCS?

MCS Certified Logo

MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is the industry standard for design and installation of air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps. It is an independent scheme that certifies products such as heat pumps, as well as their installers to maintain standards within the industry.

All qualifying air source or ground source heat pump installations must be MCS accredited for customers to benefit from the Boiler Upgrade Scheme £7,500 voucher.

More information about What MCS is can be found here.

What is the process of the Heat Pump Go MCS Umbrella Scheme?

Our MCS Umbrella scheme is here to make installing heat pumps easy. No two projects are the same and Heat Pump Go can provide different levels of service depending on what you need. Here is an overview on how we can work with you.

Specification & Pricing

Our team are on hand to discuss your project and provide you with a quotation and initial heat pump specification. We will need the following information to be able to put together this initial specification:

For Newbuild & Renovations:

  • Floor plans, elevations, and section drawings.
  • SAP report and U- Values.
  • Details on the planned heating distribution.

For Retrofit Boiler Replacements

  • Property EPC.
  • Up to date construction details and insulation levels in the property.
  • Details on the existing heating system.
  • Details on the existing heating distribution system.

Once we have this information, we will be able to put together a quotation for the project that will be sent to you through email. This specification will be subject to a formal MCS room-by-room heat loss design. This formal design can be purchased separately to confirm the heat loss of the property prior to ordering.

Ordering

To proceed using Heat Pump go as your MCS Umbrella Scheme, you just need to accept the online quotation that our team send you. The project is then passed to our projects team who will be your point of contact for through the installation. There will be some documentation to complete such as sub-contractor and end user agreements. These are important for MCS compliance.

Pre-installation Site Meeting & Installation

Abode’s projects team will arrange your pre-installation site meeting, where our engineer will meet with you on site to review all the technical requirements for the project. The engineer will confirm equipment locations and review technical schematics, ensuring that the installed system will be fully MCS compliant.

Then it’s time for you to install the specified heat pump system into the property. Abode can supply you with the heat pump equipment, or you can source this yourself if you prefer.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme

If your customer is eligible for the boiler upgrade scheme and would like to apply for it, Abode will complete the voucher application administration for your customer. Once the commissioning and MCS documentation is completed, Abode will arrange the voucher claim and repayment.

Terms and conditions apply. You can find full details for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme can be found here.
